A search has been underway for a couple months for a person to replace David Brame who announced he was retiring less than a year after being appointed to replace Vic Randle who had held the position for 13 years.

According to the announcement from the Ferndale School District,

Tripp has over 24 years of coaching experience at the high school and collegiate level. His most recent experience has been at Humboldt University where he has been the offensive coordinator and assistant head football coach for the last eight years. Prior to his position at Humboldt University, Mr. Tripp served as an assistant head football coach, as well as the head strength coach at Western Washington University for 14 years. He has also been a physical education teacher and an athletic director. Mr. Tripp actually began his career at Ferndale High School as an assistant football coach and completed his student teaching at the same time under Vic Randall.

Mr. Tripp will oversee the district’s K-12 athletic programs. This will include supervising coaches, promoting athletics, supervising athletic events, scheduling events, collaborating with administrators and building community relationships. In addition, Mr. Tripp will work closely with club advisors, leadership teachers, staff and community leaders to enhance student engagement in our schools and community.
