US Representative Suzan DelBene is scheduled to take a walking tour of downtown Ferndale this Saturday with Ferndale Mayor Jon Mutchler and Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Ann Cline. This comes as news of a petition for Trade Act program assistance submitted in November was recently approved according to the International Association of Machinists Local 2379.
The Trade Adjustment Assistance can come in the form of training and relocation assistance if needed to accept a job offer in another location. In addition, income support, a health coverage tax credit and weekly income support when their unemployment benefits are exhausted may also be available to eligible workers.
