FERNDALE, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the northbound I-5 Portal Way off-ramp about 4:35pm tonight, November 29th, for a 2-vehicle rollover crash with injuries.
Whatcom County Fire District 7 personnel responded. Division Chief Justin Iverson said they transported the driver of the white Ford pickup to PeaceHealth St. Joseph with non-life threatening injuries. Iverson said the driver was the only occupant of the pickup truck.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Heather Axtman said the pickup truck had struck the blue Buick sedan and the Buick was unoccupied after having been parked some time earlier on the side of the off-ramp. The Buick had been “tagged” by a WSP trooper prior to the crash.
The off-ramp was temporarily closed as a result of the crash.
