FERNDALE, Wash. — First responders were dispatched about 8:50am today, Friday, April 14th, to the southbound lanes of I-5 north of the Main Street interchange in Ferndale due to a report of a crash.
Traffic cameras showed the passing lane being block while traffic was able to get by via the right lane.
Both lanes were reopened to traffic by 9:30am.
Washington State Patrol Sargeant Rocky Oliphant told Whatcom News that a motorcycle was traveling southbound approaching slowing traffic when the rider laid the motorcycle down. The rider and the motorcycle slid into a vehicle in front of them.
Oliphant said the rider suffered minor injuries and was cited for speed too fast for the conditions and not having a motorcycle endorsement on his license.
