A couple new sights on 2nd Avenue and Portal Way

After driving the same roads over and over, the scenery becomes blurry as it rarely changes. But a couple new items have been built to catch your eye.

Griffintown Park, the stretch of 2nd Avenue between the railroad crossing on Washington Street and the businesses before the Portal Way roundabout, is the site of another spontaneous piece of art. Ferndale Councilmember Rebecca Xczar and her husband, Kyle Deming, spent several hours this afternoon installing the latest in what the Parks, Recreation and Trails Advisory Board (PRTAB) promises will be a series of art.

Further up the road under I-5 and a short distance up Portal Way there is a new video display in front of long standing business, Quick-E Mart. Owner, Amrit Sidhu, recently had an illuminated video display installed in front of the store. Sidhu has been making several improvements to the interior and exterior of the business recently, including a new awning and the sign, and has said there are more in the works.
