The City of Ferndale (COF) received a grant from Whatcom Community Foundation to put on a city-wide scavenger hunt contest this July. Participation is free according to a COF announcement.
Participants are to organize into teams and sign up in June (any age restrictions of participants, team sizes and how to sign up has not been provided yet). Scavenger hunt clues will begin being given out weekly via the City’s social media accounts and posted at City Hall July 1st.
Points will be awarded for finding items in Ferndale Parks. According to the COF announcement, “Participants can also score points for completing tasks that connect them with their community such as talking to a veteran, meeting a neighbor or discovering a part of Ferndale’s history.”
Prizes and awards are expected to be announced at Old Settlers Picnic at the end of July.
