City of Ferndale staff say over 4,000 people enjoyed recreational activities funded by taxpayers and put on by the city in Ferndale parks last summer. More of the same is being planned for this, the 4th year, of the summer events.
A survey has been created by the city (link to survey) asking what type of events and activities people want to participate in and where.
According to City of Ferndale Communications and Recreation Coordinator Riley Sweeney, events were produced last year with a budget of $15,500. This year’s budget is $17,000. Sweeney said they expanded the marketing effort to promote the events to participants from outside of Ferndale last year.
