Change in the weather finally appears to be here

Data reported from a weather station located near Ferndale High School indicate a sudden change of wind direction followed by just as sudden temperature increase (December 18, 2016).

Those hoping for warmer temperatures should take comfort from recent weather data.

The graphs below represent the shift in temperature, dew point, sustained wind speed, wind gust speed and wind direction between 6pm and 10:30pm today.

Winds can be seen shifting quickly from northerly, which has been the source of the cold air for the past several days, to southerly at about 9:30pm. By 10:30pm, temperatures had risen by about 10 degrees, from 28° to 38°.

These are the changes that have been forecast. In addition, winds can be seen increasing which coincides with a Wind Advisory issued between 10pm tonight and 10am tomorrow.
