Dust kicked up by powerful winds today had made visibility difficult in the area according to a nearby resident.
The murder scene was discovered in eastern Whatcom County Sunday morning.
First responders were dispatched to the scene due to a report of a residential fire about 9:45am this morning.
"Closing schools when there has not been a confirmed case in a student or staff member is not currently recommended by the Whatcom County Health Department."
Heavy snow accumulations of 12- to 18-inches are possible.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area for a while.
Wreckage was reportedly found near Fragrance Lake south of Bellingham.
