LYNDEN, Wash. — Badger Road was the scene of another crash today, May 13th, after a vehicle fleeing law enforcement crashed at Depot Road. Both lanes of Badger Road were closed for several hours yesterday when a semi-truck overturned, spilling a load of lumber.
According to unconfirmed radio transmissions by first responders at the time, the vehicle had been reported stolen from a Lynden location earlier this morning and multiple law enforcement agencies were provided the description of the vehicle. The vehicle was located while being driven in Everson. Law enforcement followed it to Hannegan Road and then north into Lynden when it crashed at the intersection of Badger Road and Depot Road. The driver reportedly fled on foot and taken into custody nearby.
Officials with Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) reported at 8am the crash was impacting all lanes of travel at Depot Road and Badger Road. As of 9am, the scene was being cleared and traffic impacts were minimal according to a WSDOT spokesperson.
