FERNDALE, Wash. — Neighbors need not be concerned over the sound of cannon fire coming from the field adjacent to the Ferndale Boys and Girls Clubhouse in Pioneer Park. The cannons are expected to be fired during the Ferndale Renaissance Faire Saturday and Sunday, July 20th and 21st.
Organizers say event attendees can expect to be treated to belly dancing, music, soap making, sewing, weaving, fighting demos, a scriptorium, forging and shield making.
The cannon fire can be expected Saturday about 10am and 6pm and Sunday about 10am and 4:30pm during the opening and closing activities according to organizers.
The Faire is a free event put on by Norse by Northwest. According to their website they are a Heathen founded non-profit organization focused on direct clothing assistance to the homeless and building a Heathen and Pagan worship and education center in Northwest Washington.
