The Whatcom County Fire Marshall reminds everyone it will require much more rain than what is in the immediate forecast to reduce the current high level of fire danger.
In a news release yesterday, July 9th, the Fire Marshal’s Office points out
the minimal amount of rain forecast will have no significant impact on the fire danger levels, or fuel moisture levels for Whatcom County. Burn bans are still in place until further notice, and are not expected to be removed any time soon.
All outdoor burning including recreational fires (ie campfires) are currently prohibited under the current “complete” burn ban issued June 29th.
