City of Ferndale forewarned that in order to replace a couple culverts it will be necessary to close Brown Road to all through traffic, including emergency vehicles, between Portal Way (at the RR tracks) and Malloy Avenue from mid-July to late August.
It isn’t known what specific date the closure will occur. This article will be updated if that becomes available. A detour route around the closure via Grandview Road will be marked.
According to the city’s website, the project will replace two existing culverts with a box culvert through the head waters to California Creek and was awarded to Trimaxx Construction, Inc. of Sedro Woolley.
UPDATE: July 17th
The city announced today that this project and the road closure will begin Monday, July 20th.
