EVERSON, Wash. — Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office reported that today, Wednesday, November 17th, search and rescue volunteers along with personnel from the Everson Police Department and Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office located the body of a male in Everson.
About 1:05pm the body was located in a wooded area in the 600 block of Main Street in Everson.
WCSO officials say this is believed to be the body of Jose Garcia, a 49-year-old Everson resident, missing since Monday after his car was reportedly swept off the road by floodwaters and he contacted a relative by phone saying he was in a tree or bush before the line went dead.
Final cause of death will be determined by the Whatcom County Medical Examiner.
