BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham Police were dispatched about 8:15pm on September 17th to the 300 block of S State Street due to reports of a physical domestic altercation between a man and a woman.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in Whatcom County Superior Court, officers arrived to find that a group approached a man and woman engaged in a verbal argument and started attacking the man. While the man was fist fighting with the group, the woman reportedly drove a vehicle into the group in an attempt to help him, officers were told.
Members of the group told officers they were walking past when the man began to assault them and then the woman drove at them while they were defending themselves. Witnesses reported the woman made multiple attempts to drive at the group.
The group declined to press charges against the man but did want to press charges against the woman, identified as Naomi Lynn Miller, age 39 and of Blaine. Miller was arrested without incident and was booked into Whatcom County Jail.
Miller is currently facing 3 felony charges of 1st-degree assault with a deadly weapon in Whatcom County Superior Court.
Miller posted a $40,000 bond and was released from custody on September 19th. She appeared at her arraignment hearing on September 27th.
At the time of her arrest, Miller was awaiting trial for a felony charge of 2nd-degree assault of a child. This charge stems from a domestic incident in Ferndale in June. She was out of custody after posting bail on that charge.
