Blaine residents to expect periodic power outages through June

BLAINE, Wash. — Officials with the City of Blaine announced today, April 19th, that scheduled power outages can be expected beginning April 23rd through June 30th.

The first outage is scheduled for 3 hours, from 9am to 12pm, on Friday, April 23rd.

The outages will be the result of City of Blaine electrical crews completing work to improve the electrical system according to the announcement. This work will require planned periodic short outages that will affect residential areas primarily within the central part of Blaine and will not affect the Semiahmoo area according to officials.

We recognize that any duration without electricity is an inconvenience. To minimize the impact Public Works will be notifying affected residents 2-3 days before the outage occurs. Our crews will reach out to residents in person or with door hangers with information regarding when the outage will occur and the duration of the outage. We will also provide updates on our website @ www.cityofblaine.com.
