BLAINE, Wash. — A 33-year-old woman was arrested by Blaine Police and booked into the Whatcom County Jail shortly after midnight on October 10th charged with suspicion of making a bomb threat.
Blaine Police Department Lieutenant Michael Munden told Whatcom News via email that while they were assisting the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) in searching for a driver that had fled a traffic stop in the Blaine area, a person called What-Comm 911 saying a bomb had been placed at a Blaine grocery store.
The phone used to make the threat was identified as belonging to Kathleen Rosemarie Fox, age 33, and officers were able to identify her voice by listening to the 911 recording, according to Munden.
Munden said the fleeing suspect is in a dating relationship with Fox.
Officers believe this call was a ruse to draw officers away from searching for the WCSO suspect. Blaine Police Department (October 10, 2023)
