BLAINE, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to a report of a 2-car injury crash at the intersection of Drayton Harbor Road and Blaine Road today, Tuesday, January 10th, about 8am.
According to radio transmissions from law enforcement at the scene, Blaine Road (SR548) was temporarily closed due to the crash.

Initial reports from the scene were that this was a T-bone crash with 3 injured patients, including 1 entrapped in their vehicle.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Kelsey Harding told Whatcom News there were 2 occupants in a black 2000 Volkswagen Jetta and 1 in a red 2000 Ford Explorer.
North Whatcom Fire and Rescue Division Chief Shaun Ward said the driver of the VW had been transported from the scene by medic to PeaceHealth St Joseph’s Medical Center under advanced life support protocol (ALS). The driver of the Ford refused medical aid.
Ward said it appeared the VW was eastbound on Drayton Harbor Road when it entered the intersection and was struck on the driver’s side by the southbound Ford.
Harding said their investigation had not been completed but expected a citation would be issued.
