It was about a year ago when it was announced permits for a large-scale retail project had been applied for.
The reaction from the community was mixed, with many worrying about the impact it would have on traffic and local businesses while others welcomed a boost in sales tax revenue, something the city has little of.
At last night’s city council meeting, city staff and the councilmembers were discussing local developments of various sizes. Within that discussion came a comment from city staff stating the retail project proposed on Nordic Way had been “put on hold” by the applicant.
