Bellingham Police seek information around shooting that left 1 dead, another injured

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the area around the intersection of W Horton Road and Meridian Street in Bellingham about 11:50pm on Sunday, October 18, 2025, due to reports of shots fired.

On October 20, 2025, Bellingham Police released the following statement.

On 10-18-25, at approximately 11:50 p.m., officers responded to a shots fired call around W. Horton Rd and Meridian Street. Initial reports indicate a vehicle left the area of the call. Officers responded and did not locate a crime scene. Within minutes of the initial call, a vehicle showed up at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center Emergency Department with two injured passengers who required immediate medical attention. One of the passengers, a 26-year-old male, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The other, a 25-year-old male, is being treated and is expected to survive.

BPD Detective Division is actively investigating the case and working to identify a motive for this homicide and identify suspect(s) involved.
