BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham Police Department personnel were dispatched to the 1200 block of N State Street on Friday, January 21st, about 4:45pm due to a report of a bank robbery.
According to unconfirmed police radio transmissions at the time, a man passed a teller a note and then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. A detailed description of the suspect was broadcast to law enforcement along with photos from the bank’s security cameras.
BPD officers were assisted by Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office and Washington State Patrol personnel in looking for the suspect.
Bellingham Police Department Spokesperson Lieutenant Claudia Murphy said Monday, January 24th, this incident was still being investigated.
Why doesn’t the article say what bank it was? Intentional poor reporting?
It does not serve any real purpose and does do harm to identify crime victims.
