BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Bellingham Police Detective Division is seeking the public’s help in identifying a rape suspect.

Lieutenant Claudia Murphy told Whatcom News that Bellingham Police investigated a sexual assault which occurred in the middle of August in the Byron Avenue area.  They are looking for information leading to the identity and arrest of the suspect in that crime.

A composite drawing has been done and is being released to generate information on which detectives can act.  The suspect is described as a 25- to 35-year-old white male, 5-foot 9-inches tall with a stocky build.  He has brown hair, scruffy facial hair and was wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with any information as to the identity of the suspect are asked to contact Bellingham Police using any of the following methods.
