The Ferndale Police Department wants to write fewer tickets for failure to wear a seat belt and they want your help.
Expect to see more than one seat belt emphasis patrol in the next week or two within the Ferndale city limits. The Ferndale PD hopes this forewarning will encourage everyone to “buckle-up” if not to be safer then at least to avoid the $124 ticket.
Every occupant in a passenger vehicle must be using their seat belt to be in compliance with Washington State law.
