Alcoa Intalco Works Human Resources Manager Sandra Hughes submitted a notice to Washington State per the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (aka WARN) that estimates the number of workers to be laid off to be “up to 465.”
The notice goes on to specify that layoffs will begin January 18th, 2016, give or take two weeks and most employees would be laid off by February 12th.
When the initial layoff announcement was made, Communications Director Josh Wilund said the plant employed a total of 583 employees.
