As neighbors fire up wood stoves to deal with temperatures in the low 20s, air quality around Ferndale has also dropped.
According to latest information from the Loomis Trail air monitoring station, air quality moved well into the MODERATE range overnight.
When air quality is MODERATE, people with asthma, respiratory infection, diabetes, lung or heart disease, or have had a stroke should limit outdoor activities or do activities that take less effort, such as walking instead of running.
