Original Story
Smoke from over 150 wildfires in the British Columbia interior has begun wafting into Washington State during the past couple days due to shifts in wind direction.

As a result of the increased smoke, air quality reported from the Northwest Clean Air Agency’s air monitoring station on Loomis Road in Custer is now in the “MODERATE” zone (see graphic).

Washington State Department of Ecology advises, when air quality is reported in the MODERATE range, people with asthma, respiratory infection, diabetes, lung or heart disease, or have had a stroke may begin to have breathing problems. These people should limit outdoor activities or do activities that take less effort, such as walking instead of running.
