911 outage reported across WA counties including Whatcom

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Officials with Washington State Emergency Management Division reported shortly after 4pm that some counties across the state reported callers were unable to reach 911 call centers due to an apparent system outage.

Counties that reported issues with their 911 services included Whatcom, Clallam, Jefferson, Kitsap, Skagit, Snohomish, King, Thurston and Pierce.

Officials with the What-Comm 911 Communications Center said, as of 4:30pm, the system in Whatcom County was functioning properly.

By 5pm, it was reported most 911 services had been restored in the other counties. “This incident will be investigated by our state 911 Office in coordination with local counties.”
