5 arrested following 6 federal search warrants served in Whatcom County

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office issued a press release today regarding a multi-agency effort that served 6 search warrants on locations around Whatcom County on Wednesday, July 19th.

A months-long investigation into individuals selling suspected fentanyl led to the execution of six federal search warrants in Whatcom County. These search warrants were led by the Drug Enforcement Administration Bellingham and the Whatcom Gang and Drug Task Force. Four search warrant locations were in the county and two were inside the city limits of Bellingham.

Investigators seized approximately 30,000 fentanyl pills, 300 grams of fentanyl powder, and a kilogram of cocaine. Five subjects were arrested on local warrants. This operation was also assisted by the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, Washington State Patrol, and United States Border Patrol.
