FERNDALE, Wash. — Ferndale Police and Whatcom County Fire District 7 (WCFD7) were kept busy dealing with 4 separate vehicle crashes yesterday, February 10, 2026.
Washington State Patrol and WCFD7 were dispatched about 9:30am at the southbound lanes of I-5 at the Portal Way on-ramp. At the time of publication, the information available was this was 2 vehicle non-injury collision. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Aid was on scene to assist with treating 1 patients.
According to Ferndale Police, they then responded to a crash in the 2000 block of Main Street about 10:55am.
Three vehicles traveling east on Main Street. Vehicle in the rear failed to stop for vehicles stopped for traffic. The rear vehicle collided into the rear of the second vehicle, pushing the second vehicle into the third vehicle.
No injuries reported on the scene.
No citations, exchange of information between all parties involved.
They then responded with WCFD7 to the intersection of Hovander Road and Main Street about 1:50pm due to a 2-vehicle crash.
[A] Vehicle turning west onto Main Street from Hovander Road failed to stop at stop sign and was struck head on by vehicle traveling east on Main Street.
One driver was transported to hospital for head laceration.
At fault driver, criminal arrest for DWLS [driving while license suspended] and citation for no insurance and failure to make a complete stop at stop sign.
Ferndale Police and WCFD7 then responded to a crash at the intersection of Main Street and Barrett Road and the northbound I-5 on- off-ramps about 6:45pm.
Vehicle with yellow arrow traffic signal failed to yield to oncoming traffic while turning north to go on I-5 from Main Street and collided with another vehicle traveling west on Main Street.
Minor injuries reported, no medical transportation.
At fault driver cited for no insurance.
