WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — First responders were dispatched to the intersection of Aldrich Road and W King Tut Road around 9am today, July 17th, due to a report of a T-bone crash.
Washington State Patrol (WSP) reported this afternoon that a silver 1997 Acura Integra hatchback was northbound on Aldrich Road at a high rate of speed when a silver 2001 Buick LeSabre sedan was turning left from W King Tut Road to go southbound on Aldrich when the Acura struck the Buick.
The driver of the Acura, identified by WSP as Julian Valdominosayon, age 20, of Maple Falls, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. WSP determined he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
A man and woman in the Buick were transported by ambulance to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center. WSP determined they were wearing their seatbelts.
As of this afternoon, the cause of the crash remained under investigation and it was unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
Both vehicles were considered total losses and towed from the scene.
