FERNDALE, Wash. — A resident in the 5500 block of Fisher Place noticed smoke coming from a neighboring residence and called 911 according to Whatcom County Fire District 7 Division Chief Justin Iverson. Fire crews were dispatched to the report of a residential fire at 9:30am this morning, June 4th.

When WCFD7 crews arrived, they found the house unoccupied with a fire burning in a back room according to Iverson. Upon knocking down the fire, firefighters began clearing other rooms and discovered another fire burning in the garage at the front of the house.

Iverson said no one was injured by the fire but the house suffered smoke and heat damage.

Personnel from Whatcom County Fire Marshal’s Office and Ferndale Police Department were at the scene investigating the cause of the fires.
