WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office said today they recently recover 15 firearms and seize over 100 grams of methamphetamine in a local storage unit.

In early June, the statement said, deputies received an anonymous tip about 2 unidentified people renting a storage locker outside of Bellingham and being in possession of narcotics, firearms and stolen property. The tipper included photos of their vehicles and added 1 had offered to sell them narcotics.

On June 17th, deputies contacted the manager of the storage facility who said the 1 of the suspects had just arrived. The manager granted consent for deputies to contact the suspect in the facility. Deputies contacted the suspect, identified as Ricky W Williams, age 26, of Mount Vernon, and he gave consent to search his vehicle which resulted in finding 106 grams of methamphetamine, 19 fentanyl pills and approximately 4 grams of heroin.

Williams also consented to have the storage unit searched, which resulted in finding 15 firearms and over 2300 rounds of ammunition. Williams, a convicted felon, admitted to dealing narcotics and trading drugs for the firearms. Williams was arrested and booked into Whatcom County Jail charged with suspicion of 15 counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.

In 2017, Williams pled guilty in Skagit County Superior Court to 2nd degree robbery, trafficking of stolen property and attempting to elude a police vehicle and was sentenced to 43 months in custody and 18 months of probation.
