NOOKSACK, Wash. — The northbound lane of Nooksack Road (SR9), south of S Pass Road, was blocked early this afternoon, Tuesday, June 28th, after a semi-truck trailer lost part of its load.

Approximate location of lane closure

Washington State Patrol Trooper Jacob Kennett said a trooper rolled up on the scene about 12:20pm while enroute to another call. 2 iron blocks weighing nearly 10 tons each had fallen from the trailer.

As of 1pm, a WSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer was enroute to inspect the trailer since part of the trailer appeared to have buckled.

Kennett said a heavy-duty tow truck has been requested to reload the blocks. Between needing an inspection, the potential for having to replace the trailer and the special equipment needed to reload the trailer, this lane closure can be expected to continue for hours.

Washington State Department of Transportation personnel are on site directing alternating traffic through the southbound lane.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
